When I joined KPMG Switzerland, my former boss gave me a very important objective: He gave me a list of 10 people on partner and director level, with whom I should actively network within the first 3 months. This was a crucial boost for my professional network. I also asked each one of them for further recommendations to network with. Asking your peers, bosses or people you look up to, with whom to network is the easiest way, because you can refer to them.

It's crucial to actively engage with your existing connections to expand your network and create new ones. This approach helps to maintain a harmonious balance between nurturing established relationships and cultivating new ones, allowing you to maximize your network growth potential. It's important to remember that your network is constantly growing and connecting with new people. By maintaining meaningful relationships with these individuals, you have the potential to expand your circle and benefit from their connections. I think it's essential to show your value and what you can contribute, as this will increase the likelihood of someone introducing you to their network.

I believe maintaining our connections are more important than building them. Staying in touch, liking and listening to each other's voice via the posts and commenting on them to show support and put your thoughts will increase connectivity and also help other understands better. Just like any relationship, just don't be silent be interactive. Wishing via posting on birthdays instead on DM is better as per me because everyone wishes on DM and the inbox get flooded and it makes it difficult to respond to everyone and the other person might feel disconnected. Support everyone in your contact and share you thoughts always!
