What do you do if your team lacks assertiveness and confidence in Business Architecture collaboration?

In my perspective, enhancing assertiveness and confidence in your team involves prioritizing skill development. Conduct workshops or training sessions emphasizing communication and negotiation skills tailored to the field of Business Architecture. Equip your team with tools to articulate ideas clearly and defend architectural decisions confidently. Encourage consistent practice to bolster competence and comfort levels. For instance, organizing role-playing exercises where team members simulate real-world scenarios fosters practical application of communication and negotiation skills, empowering them to navigate complex situations with assurance.

Built the confidence that the team understands what is needed of them , help set the goals that are realistic, show the team what is expected of them to accomplish their appointed project with the potential to grow within the company and how much it helps to be a team player to achieve whatever has to get done in a timely matter. So their assigned project gets the green light so we can move forward to make sure the next step falls perfectly in place .

Be the change! Don't be afraid to fail, almost every successful person and company realizes that failures are really learning examples! There isn't anybody who's successful that hasn't failed at something, so keep trying. Immerse yourself in new technologies and methodologies, change is inevitable. Either you can be a change agent or you can be that person who's always resisted change… and those folks are tough to work with.

If you’re the leader, look to yourself. Often times hesitation from your team comes from not being confident in the process or their role in it. That falls on leadership. We tend to want to point the finger to much at the people at the bottom and pretend that we don’t know that everything trickles down from the top. In conclusion, be a better leader or get better leaders.

One of the biggest things that has always made my leadership was to build the trust and be able to do anything your expecting the rest of the team . Lead by example never show fear or negativity with what your expecting from the other. Treat others like you would want to be treated yourself. Is always a good foundation to help built there trust in you .

In my perspective, integrating role-play exercises proves to be a potent strategy for bolstering assertiveness. Role playing need to be real and not fake be honest id one of the best ways to get someones attention and showing how to take a negative situation into a positive. Sometimes if you can show how you can relate to what ever the negative situations is and turn it into a positive experience so the outcome is a better way of solving the problem this way it make a better place for the whole situation and somehow things seem to get done faster and more efficient for everyone on the team.

The biggest thing is totally clear for everyone to absolutely comprehend what has to be accomplished.in order to get the job done right the first time . Which is the biggest thing you can do to build anyone’s confidence and achieve their goals.

Some of my biggest successes for this is to treat whatever has to get done like it was your own and lead by example biggest thing to do and be proud of what you have accomplished.

In my experience, diversification of collaborative techniques allow all voices to be heard. For those less assertive and offer little to no insight are encouraged to engage. Experiment with different formats and settings for meetings. For example, using written brainstorming through shared documents or silent brainstorming sessions.
