After all, we are the ones who have to inhabit the planet for many years to come, so we want to make sure a planet even exists. In the US elections in 2016, we saw record lows for voter turn out. As a response, the real estate company I worked for registered their offices as voter registration locations and voting locations to help increase voter turn out especially in the communities they directly worked in.

In order to continuously learn, adapt, and then scale your CSR efforts, it is important to have some 'constants'. I would propose one of those constants to be the intended beneficiaries of the social responsibility agenda. In essence, the answers to the questions "Who are you trying to serve?" and "What aspect of their life/experience needs changing?" It can be one beneficiary persona, one community, multiple communities with some common characteristics and so on. Having the beneficiaries in mind while designing programs keeps the focus on tangible end-goals and detaches you from the strategy/tactic/action. The less attached one is to the solution, the easier it is to pivot/evolve/innovate.
