Agility starts from a mindset. If the Organisation has a culture of taking chances and provides a safe environment to its employees to explore new ideas without the fear of failure then it is automatically empowering them to become more agile. Another important aspect of Agile organisation is the ability to Collaborate. While healthy competition is fine ,but often internal turf wars within the Organisation creates road blocks for Collaboration. Hence it is imperative for the Leadership to get people together to drive towards common goals.

When I started my career in HR ( some 20 years back), HR is seen as a support group. Now HR is seen as an expert/consultant - this for me is the biggest transformation in HR that I have encountered. We have earned the respect and trust of the business to be given the seat at the table and that our voices/ideas are heard and valued.

Having HR as a strategic business partner starts with the CHRO / CPO / EVP HR having a seat at the table with the CEO and other C-level executives. Couldn’t agree more,for decades HR has been a fairly transactional function, however we’ve seen a shift over the last few years where a future focussed transformative/strategic HR offering has evolved. HR teams have felt the need to show their value, and many have risen to that challenge by aligning people strategies to organisational goals and objectives. Becoming that Strategic partner has resulted in greater influence at the top table of businesses and is bringing huge benefits in creating mature, high performing organisations with a growth/continuous learning mindset embedded in all it does. Big part of this for me is the greater use of data and MI to drive evidenced based decision making

It's wise to consider that most people are at least initially change-resistant. As a result, a consultant once taught me the exercise of speaking to "the head and the heart" when initially communicating change. The exercise is something I continue in practice today. - High-level, the "head statement" is the logical, typically statistical reason driving the change, and the "heart statement" is the emotionally compelling reason to support the change.

I would say the process of planning, implementing, and evaluating organizational changes that affect people, processes, and culture. Personally I was involved with the Change Management committee at RAK Ceramics HQ. Where we co-created the employee experience with its workforce, using agile methods such as design thinking and data analytics created a pool of internal consultants who work on cross-functional teams to support business priorities. From annual performance reviews to frequent feedback and peer recognition everything was revamped.

Having 20+ years of HR experience, I've seen the real power of good change management (CM). PepsiCo's approach here is spot on: clear planning, open communication, and always keeping people at the heart of it all. Also important to note is that CM isn't just about ticking compliance boxes It's about making sure that everyone from the ELT to front-line staff is on board and moving in the same direction. A clear governance structure using sound CM practice and of course making data driven decisions is key as it keeps everyone accountable and in the loop. What really makes a difference though is having a team dedicated to driving and supporting the change. These 'champions of change' are the ones who can really have a positive impact!

With the enabler mindset, HR should strive to be the active partner with the business leaders in creating a profitable organisation. This requires genuine care and interest from HR to help the organisation succeed. Not just transactional or consultant roles but active partners in driving business results by creating a highly engaged and efficient organisation.
