EHR is a game changer it is a source of patient data, provides a quick communication in the multidisciplinary team as files can be instantly accessed.It facilitates a clear handover that improves on the quality of patient care.Furthermore,large files of patient information can be stored reducing the physical space that could be otherwise tedious and costly. EHR requires proper authentication to ensure information does not reach unauthorised person.

Como enfermeira empenhada em melhorar a segurança do paciente, eu poderia utilizar a tecnologia de várias maneiras. Uma delas seria implementar sistemas de registro eletrônico de saúde, que permitem um acesso mais rápido e preciso ao histórico médico do paciente, reduzindo erros de medicação e garantindo uma comunicação mais eficiente entre os membros da equipe. Além disso, poderia explorar tecnologias de identificação biométrica ou de código de barras para garantir a administração correta de medicamentos e evitar trocas ou erros de dosagem.

A utilização de dispositivos de monitoramento remoto também poderia ser benéfica, permitindo uma vigilância contínua dos sinais vitais dos pacientes e uma intervenção precoce em caso de deterioração clínica. Essas iniciativas tecnológicas contribuiriam significativamente para promover um ambiente mais seguro e eficaz para a prestação de cuidados de saúde aos pacientes.

Smart monitoring provides real-time patient vital signs.Quick treatment decisions can be made timely. An example of efficient advanced technology is where real time vital signs during an aeromedical evacuation can be shared to the receiving facility.

A diabetic patient who is on follow-up care and well thought on how to monotor and control blood sugar can be reviewed by a doctor through teleconference. The only thing required is internet connection and a computer or phone.The patient provide recorded blood sugars /vital signs and the doctor is able to advice accordingly via the video.This saves time and cost while promoting health

Technology is also an opportunity to spread the wealth when it comes to educating your staff on a broad spectrum. The cost of having multiple staff members present onsite for programming is not sensible when the education department can deploy programming to departments that is self-led with instruction and employees are require to submit competency upon completion.
