Code quality of any project is reflection of it's core maintainers, abstract quality for the purpose of best standards or any other ephemeral cause brings little value beyond aesthetical satisfaction. This doesn't mean that adoption of widely used instrumentation like linters, code scanners and simple or staged code review should be ignored. Realistically more or less objective way to bring analisys to the table is tracking of some relevant kpi's eg: ease of adoption/speed of feature delivery/maintainability/abstraction factor (ease of upstream dependency migrations)/ etc.

When you are coding, you MUST check quality. For this you've got some tools for the first check : linter, unitary test, security scan, ... When everything is good then you must show your code with a code review. Then you need to push your code on a version control (git) with a great commit message (git karma). At this point you will have some error, but at least not some typo !

But it's more important to be able to test your code directly on a consistent environments. which need to be a copy of your production ! This can be done with a kube or a docker and changing only the configuration for using your non production id/pwd

I was a scrum master, you MUST decompoze your task. The better is to make 2-4h task. You will close a lot of ticket during your day. So you will be happy to have well worked and you will better understand how you work and how you can improve your productivity. Always cut what can be delayed. You don't have to answer to this mail in the 5 next minute. If this is so urgent, then they will call you instead of a mail !

I work on computer field since 25 years. I've learn a lot of way to do my task. When I'm looking for improving my methodology I found some new concepte, or I develop some new one. Each time I gain a lot of time or at least I get some more robust application. Normally you can take some time on your work for following the technology.

Diagram the entire workflow end-to-end and leave out all error checking... i.e diagram a straight thru process as though everything completes successfully. That is your optimum MVP (minimal viable process). Now pick any process in the MVP, and improve it by 10x without using any technology... This will help break through the dogma of automating bad process. You will have to think about process differently to achieve this, i.e look where others are not looking :)
