Weight is a big issue when it comes to PHEVs. You're carrying around a lot of weight all the time even when you've run ouf EV range. Consequently if you do a lot of miles then a PHEV probably isn;t for you as it'll result in using more fuel than a conventionally powered vehicle.

Need is something which need to be understand while pitching hybrid against fuel operated vehicles . If running is less and identified while probing one can always understand need of customer and pitch vehicle accordingly.

Given the same performance and the craftship, the comparison of hybrids is futility and vanity. Sadi Carnot's law on the efficiency of heat engines stopped meaningless arguing about the best working substances, given the same temperature range. Not the type of power drive, but the weight and size are determinants of vehicles' efficiency given decent engineering and making.

One thing I find useful to help people understand that plugin hybrids are not that bad is that they are really designed for a combined cycle to be most efficient. For customers doing daily commute including some highway, they can be very beneficial. a combustion engine is never efficient. But it is “least inefficient” on the highway at stable high (but still legal!) speed. Most of the added energy need to drive fast is offset by having the engine deliver more work per amount of fuel used. That’s why consumption is lowest on highway, and highest in town. EVs are always efficient motors, so driving faster means more energy required. A PHEV can truly save a lot of fuel if used in combined situation. Plugging at home makes it even better.

I think with EVs coming and eventually having a little more market in rich countries,what will be difficult for underdeveloped countries people to understand is the benefit of ev and hybrid I mean main thing would be how much they can save on monthly bases driving on both city and highways ,and how safety wise also it can be better ,each of the interior features would remain same more or less apart from varying models

Many people buy hybrids - plug-in hybrids especially - because they don't trust that a full battery-electric vehicle will take them where they want to go without running out of rangee. After driving the hybrid for a while they find that the vast majority of the journeys they take are easily accomplished using the battery alone. As a result, they gain confidence that a full BEV (battery electric vehicle) is right for them when they come to swap.

You absolutely must look at how the customer uses the vehicle. Many hybrids offer zero benefit in terms of fuel consumption at highway speeds where the motor doesn't really do anything. For drivers who do more city work though, there are significant benefits as there's more opportunity to regenerative braking and running on battery alone.
