What do you do if your remote team is struggling to stay motivated and productive?

1. Have regular check-ins and team meetings to address any issues and provide support. 2. Offer incentives or rewards for achieving goals and milestones. 3. Encourage open communication and provide opportunities for team members to share their ideas and concerns. 4. Provide resources and training to help team members improve their skills and knowledge. 5. Offer flexibility and support to help team members balance their work and personal lives.

In my experience managing multinational and multicultural teams, bringing the sense of a "one team" is key. No matter where people are based, it is key they do feel they are part of a team that supports each other. Having regular connects and opening the camera if they feel comfortable. Provide clarity on what´s expected and be alert to any behavioural changes. Important: make yourself available and be trustworthy.

If you don’t feel connected to your teammates, supervisor(s), or company/organization, it will be tough getting positive results. I love remote environments and some things that have worked for my teams that I either led or supported were: •Varying between structured and unstructured check-ins (for example, weekly check-ins, monthly bring your pet or loved ones, and my favorite—reversing the roles where the supervisor let’s their direct reports run the meeting) When the connection points are the same each and every time, it can get redundant, especially if everything is always coming one-sided from the top down) As a team leader, I always do my best to ensure my team has input in how they would like to connect and how often.

Develop a listening ear to understand their needs and show emphathy to difficulties faced in the work environment. Create an atmosphere that allows team members to thrive and be the best version of themselves. Encourage effective communication within the team and never downplay any effort

During work hours, allow breaks and music. Music at the lunch rooms eases the nerves. Stretch your muscles by taking short walks to stay hydrated and always be positive

In a hybrid work setup, it is easier for remote employees to feel left out or feel that their efforts are not being seen or appreciated. In my experience, recognising your teammate or team’s efforts privately and publicly goes a long way in motivating them. Having regular one on ones is great for this. I also suggest that each team organises virtual celebration events where the team leader mentions peculiar characteristics and wins of each teammate. This makes them feel seen, understood and appreciated for their work.
