Our eng team has video stand up 4x a week with the marketing team, with 2 of those meetings having a follow-up reserved for discussing technical hurdles or sharing information about new or refactored APIs and modules. Cross-domain synchronous meetings help spread information about bug fixes and upcoming features. We continue the conversation in slack, and on internal wikis, slide decks, and documents. Open communication is valued, to ensure people share your understanding and to mitigate mistaken tone. If it's more than a few short DMs, though, we try to get on a call.
