Speaking from a risk and regulatory angle, the first question is always 'why are we using AI' and then 'why is it not working'. In my experience: - Begin with a diagnostic assessment, challenge the need and assess the alignment of the solution with the need - Ensure the inputs are correct. As the old saying goes 'garbage in, garbage out'. - Check whether the output is aligned with expectations and if the team has the right skillset. - Stakeholder alignment is critical throughout! - Learn and adapt from experience; as more data is collected, the outputs are expected to be more refined in line with the logic. - Last but not the least, ensure regulatory compliance.

This is pretty simple. If it's not enhancing your work, you're either not using it correctly, or you're not using the right tools. Alternatively, it's possible that you haven't fully embraced it yet. The bottom line is that those who do not incorporate AI into their workload will be left behind and overtaken by the competition.

Sometimes you have to take it to the basics. AI cannot solve every problem. You were capable before AI and are capable now.

Seeking advise by experts!... All the points listed above requires enough knowledge, understanding and skills on AI. If one is not an expert and not even close to be one, then is not feasible to take a correct decision. As a consultant who wants to make the best use possible of AI as a tool, one ned to clearly know what one expects and what AI can provide and how this can be done. From there, to know the required actions to be done is possible. The consultant knows what is needed, but doesn’t know how would be possible to get it: seeking an expert’s advice is needed.

Recently, I asked an AI to place a list of values into a specific model that I use. I reworded it many times with the same initial list and the AI would not include Integrity or Humility in the list no matter the wording. I concluded that the developer of the model excluded those terms as valuable. We are checking any AI output closely and are using superior multi-perspective human intelligence to correct it regularly.
