This is Grace. She's the founder of a successful startup in Singapore. Grace didn't hear back from that Tier 1 investor she was trying to get on her term sheet today. Grace didn't close her biggest client ever. Grace didn't manage a multi-million-dollar exit either. Grace still hasn't understood what crypto is about. Nor has she managed to find a real good case for blockchain. And her AI features are clunky, to say the least. So what is it, Grace? What with the billion-dollar smile and the victory attitude like you knocked out Rocky Balboa before he turned 80?! Well, Grace just learnt that the next +65 will be back soon, after a well deserved summer break. She's been missing her favorite monthly tech party, catching up with fellow founders, hearing the latest trends and having a chill one in a cool location. And this time, she can even catch VCs with a tan, after they come back from their remote "work retreat" at the Paris Olympics and on yachts in the French Riviera. So you bet Grace is happy. The best of AI is still happening offline and it's got nothing artificial to it 😉 Another +65 Tech Party bit the (fairy) dust last week. Our biggest so far. The longest. And possibly the most fun, too! 🧚♀️ 230 tech founders, product builders, investors and a sparkle of super connectors thought that was a good idea to join us. Over 15 nationalities from Asia and beyond. A spectacular gender balance. A crowd of makers that doesn't seem to stop growing although it's an invite-only gathering and you need a secret key to sign up. Maybe because we partnered with SuperAI, invited the startups from Google SEA's AI Accelerator and Jingjing Zhong blackmailed her fellow founders from Iterative cohort to show up? 👩💻 Or maybe simply because the prodigal Christopher Fong was finally back in town after his walkabout in the US, and needed a good party to shower everyone with bubbles to celebrate a successful fundraising round for Key? ($5.8M, baby, sick!) 🍾 In any case, we got some serious entrepreneur vibe from people that don't take themselves seriously. And our friend @Papi_Barbecue putting the rooftop of Mortar & Pestle on fire certainly didn't make them run away. Yuuuuum! (Check his IG, seriously!) Wondering if we should we have a DJ next time.
