Chasety Reynolds spoke with Spectrum 1 News about the extreme temperatures and lack of protective measures at CCWF. She describes her experience as being inside “a hot, brick building,” and that if you're by the sun it “feels like a brick oven.” Chasety, an All of Us or None Community Organizing Fellow at A New Way of Life, is dedicated to advocating for formerly and currently incarcerated individuals. Stay tuned for more to come! #ANWOL #AOUON #SpectrumNews #FreedomWork

Linking Promise with Opportunity
About us
A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL) is a nationally acclaimed, Black-led organization poised to transform the US approach to criminal justice. We envision a world where everyone is valued, and systems of oppression are eliminated. Our mission is to empower communities with opportunity where justice impacted women heal, excel, and lead while disrupting systems of oppression and harm. We believe: • In building community, motivating, and centering all women. • Every person has inherent value and holds the power of possibility and transformation within them. • Public resources are better invested in opportunities for transformation than on prisons and punishment. • Formerly incarcerated people must be at the forefront in creating solutions to the incarceration crisis.

Our Workforce Development Manager, Natasha, recently visited Washington D.C. and stopped by the Normalizing Opportunity Exhibit featuring A New Way of Life Founder, Susan Burton! The Center for Justice & Economic Advancement, in collaboration with Amplifier, curated an arts campaign to advance the principles of Jobs for the Future's 'Normalizing Opportunity' policy framework. Systems-impacted individuals are capable of being leaders in the workforce. Our Workforce Development Department works tirelessly to assist women with employment and educational opportunities. #ANWOL #WorkforceDevelopment #Reentry #FreedomWork #JobsFortheFuture

Every August, A New Way of Life Reentry Project works to provide our residents with the opportunity to attend an annual 12-step Recovery Convention. After years of incarceration, a space for reflection and healing is greatly needed. It's so important for them to be able to solidify their efforts to embrace sobriety as a valued lifestyle and foundation for building a new way of life. Please help us make this trip possible for 40 women by contributing to our goal of $24,000. If you would like to donate, the link is available here: https://lnkd.in/g9hadpAe Thank you for supporting our freedom work! #ANWOL #Reentry #RecoveryConvention #FreedomWork
