American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)

This summer I was accepted into the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Social and Administrative Sciences (SAS) Section Summer Research Exchange Mentorship Program for 2024, and was selected as 1 of 5 students to receive a scholarship from the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education. Our research focused on over-the-counter fentanyl test strips as a measure of opioid harm reduction in pharmacy settings. Throughout this journey, I’ve been diving into how to develop and refine survey questions, collaborating with fellow pharmacy students on Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and understand how to develop professional skills for conferences. I am especially thankful for the mentorship and support this program provided, and I am eager to build my professional network, enhance my research skills, and contribute to the future of pharmacy through this experience! https://lnkd.in/edq5b3dd

Dear #LinkedIn community, Honored to share that I've received the 2024 Outstanding Service Award from the Global Education Special Interest Group (GE SIG) of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) which consists of the 140 plus accredited pharmacy schools in the country. This distinguished accolade celebrates exceptional service to the SIG and the pharmacy profession in global education. Recently serving as Chair of the SIG (2021-2022) has been enriching, witnessing substantial membershp growth and active participation in a wide range of SIG activities. Our Annual Virtual Global Symposium has been a highlight, featuring pharmaceutical experts from around the globe discussing crucial global topics, commencing with the profound theme of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. I am the co-chair for planning these symposia and also the moderator for the morning panel of the 2-panel annual event. The award also took into consideration my previous work with World Health Organization Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) among others.
