AAUW is committed to gender equity in education, for economic security, and in leadership. Advocating for women and girls since 1881 and into the future. AAUW Honolulu was founded in 1905 as the College Club. Created to promote “the higher ideals of education among women” it became an official branch of the AAUW in 1922. Since its founding, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day – educational, social, economic, and political. Our commitment to our mission is reflected in all aspects of our work.
