I love this time of the year and visiting Achieving the Dream network colleges to reinforce the importance and urgency of our student success work and connecting those results to the ripple effect we have in building our communities, one student and one family at a time. Tidewater Community College is re-entering our network. I leave inspired by their energy, spirit and commitment. Thank you Marcia Conston for inviting me and for your leadership. Thank you to the entire college community for your questions, your engagement and your hospitality. I also leave with my red thread reinforced, ready to keep going!

Achieving the Dream Leader Colleges like The State University of New York Schenectady are improving completion rates and closing equity gaps at impressive rates. I was honored to visit the campus today to talk about their opportunities to “redesign their redesign” especially in the area of teaching and learning while also focusing the next climb of their work on moving beyond completion, connecting their student success results with how those results improve community prosperity. It was also great to connect with President Moono, a colleague from my Montgomery County Community College days.

I love fall convocation season at our #ATDNetwork colleges. Last week I spent time at College of Lake County (an Achieving the Dream Leader College) with their amazing team including President Lori Suddick meeting with Board members, community leaders, students, faculty and administrators and staff members. I am honored to be an Honorary Lancer and appreciate the college’s hospitality and care during my visit. They are Dreaming Big!
