Action Ambulance Service, Inc., was built on integrity. We believe in honesty, responsibility, and hard work. It is this philosophy that enables us to deliver the best service possible, as well as granting us the privilege of creating long-lasting relationships with our customers, the municipalities that we serve. The organization was created in 1977 by David and Stanley Portman and founded on the core principles of customer loyalty and integrity. The founders’ father, Dr. Harry Portman, was a physician known for his selfless acts of kindness. Dr. Portman understood that a key element of patient care was customer service. Action Ambulance holds true to this philosophy today. During each employee orientation, the company expresses this ingrained ideology and expects all team members to embrace the importance of the “little things” in customer service.

Today marks my last day at Action Ambulance Service, Inc. after over three years. I am very grateful to have gained so much clinical experience during my time here as an EMT. Thank you to all the Pioneer Valley supervisors for your constant support. I am very excited for what my future in healthcare holds!

Before the Town of Hampden's Annual Town Meeting on May 13, 2024, they highlighted a successful resuscitation after a cardiac arrest incident on September 11, 2023. The event involved various individuals/organizations: Action Employees - April Fernandes EMT-P, and Vlad Riabov EMT The Region Dispatch Center staff from Wilbraham Hampden PD Hampden FD Emotions ran high with tears of joy shed, celebrating the unity and partnership between family members and EMS partners. Well done to all of those involved!
