CEO Dave Peacock was joined by Advantage Solutions leaders and teammates at last weekend’s Friends of Costco Children’s Golf Classic benefiting Seattle Children's Hospital. The event raises funds for the hospital, which provides hope, cures and care to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. Now in its 25th year, the Children’s Golf Classic has raised over $165 million for the goal of supporting uncompensated care so that families can focus on their kids’ health and not worry about hospital bills. Advantage was a hole sponsor for the golf tournament, and Dave and team showed support for Friends of Costco during the kick-off celebration and on the links. #givingiswinning #FriendsofCostco

Private brands are booming in grocery stores today — with a twist. These are not your grandfather’s private brands, or even the ones you may remember from just a few years back. Taste and quality — and not necessarily just lower prices — are drawing shoppers to private brands today, according to a new USA TODAY report by Daniel de Visé. “Our research has told us that 85% of consumers view private brand quality as equal to or greater than the national brands. It’s a huge change,” said Jim Griffin, president of Daymon North America, a division of Advantage Solutions and the No. 1 private-brand agency, with expertise in 300+ categories. And it’s paying off for retailers, as private brands made up 20.7% of all grocery sales in 2023, in terms of units sold, a record high. At the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Total Store Expo, Advantage Solutions' Jill Blanchard shared top insights on how retailers and manufacturers can navigate the current macroeconomic challenges: 💲 Value is key, but it means different things to different customers. 🛒 Innovation is back, with manufacturers ramping up new products while retailers double down on private brands. 🔓 Theft-related shrink is a major concern — some retailers may drop pricier small-pack items. 📝 Retailers are leading in test-and-learns, with 75% testing pricing and 66% testing new items. 🏆 Winning at retail will require differentiation in an industry that employs similar sales strategies. “Not everyone can win employing the same strategies,” Blanchard says. “I wish they could, but that probably won’t happen.” Check out our recent blog to read more about Blanchard's insights. https://lnkd.in/ezXEVeMi
