OR Nursing Leaders Allison Toto and Mildred DeVittorio deployed the Aerobiotix Illuvia Sense technology in the operating room across their enterprise to reduce the risk of Surgical Site Infection and improve overall OR air quality for patients and perioperative healthcare professionals. The facility was able to reduce its overall airborne particulates by as much as 92.8% and has had zero reportable SSIs since implementing the Aerobiotix Illuvia Sense device, according to the manufacturer’s instructions for use. The Illuvia Sense device is a human-factors-engineered, high-reliability solution designed to assist healthcare facilities with minimizing airborne contamination in the perioperative setting and reducing the risk of SSIs.
