Seattle, Wash., July 9, 2024 – The Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA), a member advocacy organization for the aerospace sector in Washington State, is excited to announce the appointment of Kayla Coffee as President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Kayla will oversee and implement policies and goals of the organization as determined by its Board of Directors. Furthermore, Kayla will have fiduciary and management responsibility to continue the mission of the organization – advocating on behalf of the aerospace industry in Washington State to help member companies connect and grow. Prior to her role as President and Chief Executive Officer, Kayla worked as Director of Outreach & Engagement for Aerospace Futures Alliance. She has a wealth of experience in leadership, education, and operational efficiency that qualifies her for this unique role in a 501.c.6 organization. Before her time in aerospace, Kayla worked as an independent business owner, building curriculum and teaching Mathematics for K-12 students. She has experience in managing vendor and client relationships as well as execution of large-scale events. “Kayla comes to this leadership role at a critical time in our industry. While our member companies continue to respond to recovering demand across commercial transport, we are seeing new innovation and new developments in things like advanced air mobility and commercial space that will drive exciting market diversity for manufacturing in Washington State. The Board of Directors and I are excited to see Kayla grow into this new role and lead the organization forward,” said Lynnette Muenzberg, Chairwoman of the Board. "I am incredibly excited to take on the role of CEO & President at the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA). I look forward to continuing the work to emphasize the importance of the aerospace industry in Washington State and its impact on our local communities. AFA was thrilled to attend the unveiling of the Boeing-donated fuselage at the Washington Aerospace Training & Research (WATR) Center. Huge congratulations for the incredible work they are doing. This is the first fuselage at any college, marking a significant milestone that will immensely benefit students entering the workforce. Great to see the support of the industry, community, and government. Special thanks to Rep. Rick Larson and the work on the FAA Reauthorization.
