The role of nonprofit leaders and executives is evolving. The fourth quarter of each year generally sees the height of fundraising for non-profits. Year-end appeals and donor visits rule the fundraiser’s calendar with the hope of reaching the right people who value the non-profit’s work in the community. What is a better way to kick off that season than by saying “thank you” to those who support your organization’s mission so faithfully? National Philanthropy Day® acknowledges the entire spectrum of services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the profound impact that philanthropy has on the fabric of society. Each year AFP honors individuals and groups who, through their hard work and dedication, have enhanced philanthropy, their communities, and the world. This year the event will be held on November 7 at the Foundry. The deadline for the following categories has been extended to August 16, 5:00 PM: • Youth in Philanthropy • Volunteer Fundraiser • Corporate Philanthropist National Philanthropy Day is an excellent event to highlight your donors and volunteers. Regional awardees are given the opportunity to speak from the podium to share why philanthropy is important to them. If you are an AFP member and would like more information, email [email protected].
