Last year, we were blown away by the incredible entries for our ASP Climate Change Photo Essay Prize. We received over 200 photographs from the continent and the diaspora focused on the theme, “Climate change and your community”. This year, we’re raising the stakes with the theme, “At a Crossroad: Climate and Change” which invites you to “consider how the ecological crisis is currently changing lives”. Today on #ASPArtview About: Theophilus Tetteh, a Ghanaian artist based in Accra, honed his skills in Graphic Design and Painting at Marimus Art School while simultaneously exploring various artistic mediums. Drawn to the expressive potential of Expressionism, he found figurative painting to be the most compelling avenue for exploring emotions. His seemingly static, solitary figures are vibrant representations of Ghanaian culture, embodying a dynamic spirit. Notable: Tetteh has participated in solo shows and group projects across Ghana, notably the Kente Design Project for Kejetia Market (Kumasi, 2017) and National Theatre of Ghana (Accra, 2018), and is also a member of the Ghana Association of Visual Artists (GAVA). Africa Soft Power (ASP) and African Women on Board (AWB) have launched the second edition of the Climate Change Photo Essay Prize, calling on young Africans and the global diaspora, aged 18-30, to document the impacts of climate change. This year’s theme, "At a Crossroad: Climate and Change," challenges entrants to explore how climate change is reshaping lives, the role of innovation, and where urgent action is still needed. This competition is a unique platform to showcase your storytelling through photography, with winning entries to be exhibited internationally.
