The Contingency Location Operations Rehearsal (CLOR) 2024 took place at the Combat Readiness Training Center from June 24 - 28, sending close to 100 Airmen across the country to practice for future deployments. During the CLOR, Airmen focused on implementing the Agile Combat Employment (ACE) concept through practicing command and control of dispersed force elements in a simulated wartime scenario. The CLOR also presented an opportunity for the United States Air Force to integrate new technologies. Air Combat Command's Agile Battle Laboratory (ABL) organized the operation rehearsal and in partnership with AFWERX Prime and Air Force Research Laboratory, focused on testing developmental electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. “This new class of air vehicles has the ability to revolutionize air transport generally and significantly improve the Air Force’s ability to conduct agile combat employment operations,” said Ian Clowes, AFWERX Prime capability development lead. “The eVTOLs that Agility Prime has been supporting are so radically different from most any other air vehicle, that the most effective way to understand how to use them is to put them in the hands of Airmen with problems to solve.” Read more here: https://ow.ly/ZzNQ50SEyWr . . . #AFWERX #Prime #AgilityPrime #AFRL #USAF #Airmen #DAF #DoD #CLOR #eVTOL #AgileBattleLaboratory #training #airtransport #innovation

The Project Lavoy team continues to make great strides in delivering life-saving capabilities to our warfighters on the front lines! 👏 Since completing our Refinery program, AFWERX Spark connected Project Lavoy with partners like U.S. Air Force - Medical Service Corps Continuous Improvement & Innovation and Air Force Medical Command Plans and Programs towards the goal of scaling their Whole Blood Transfusion (WBT) kit and a training platform across Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces and Air Mobility Command. Spark was also able to make a unique connection with the Valkyrie Emergency Fresh Whole Blood Transfusion Training program, a robust training curriculum created by US Navy Lt. Cmdr. Russell Wier, to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for a combat medic or corpsman to safely collect and transfuse whole blood in an emergency during combat operations. On June 24-28, the Project Lavoy team took part in the first Valkyrie training to include the certification of United States Air Force instructors for expansion across the Pacific theater. "Project Lavoy looks to provide blood capabilities in a contingency environment and partnering with Valkyrie ensures that the United States Air Force now has a proper training platform to deliver this capability,” said Master Sgt. John Reeves. These organizations shared their experiences, work to date, and sought opportunities to drive innovation together tackling the United States Department of Defense/Defense Health Agency's need to deliver fresh whole blood at the point of injury. 🔥 Learn more about AFWERX Spark: https://ow.ly/1rPe50SCk1L . . . #AFWERX #Spark #Refinery #USAF #DAF #Airmen #DoD #AFMC #ACC #PACAF #AMC #savinglives #certification #innovativeAF

Last week, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) announced that in partnership with Air Mobility Command, they will begin testing a UAS traffic management (UTM) system at MacDill Air Force Base. The system, Collaborative Low-Altitude Unmanned Aircraft System Integration Effort (CLUE), is designed to integrate uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) flights next to crewed aircraft above and around United States Air Force installations. “This is a significant milestone for AMC, AFRL, and the CLUE program, as the MacDill Air Traffic Control Tower and Base Defense Operations Center are first in the Air Force to operationally assess UTM capabilities,” said Phil Zaleski, AFRL CLUE program manager. In May, the Air Force began formally testing CLUE’s capabilities by opening it to MacDill’s ATC tower, Defense Operations Center and airfield management team. The system has also been installed at Eglin AFB’s Duke Field (KEGI) in Florida.
