Working to end the HIV epidemic in the United States through strategic grant-making, capacity building and policy.
About us
AIDS United is singularly focused on ending the HIV epidemic in the United States. During our almost 30-year history, we have changed and grown the funding landscape for HIV and transformed the policy environment. To date we have directly funded more than $98 million to local communities and have leveraged more than $115 million in additional support for programs that include access to care for people living with HIV, capacity building for community-based organizations, HIV prevention, advocacy, syringe access, and more. Through our Public Policy Committee, we’ve built the largest and strongest coalition of HIV-focused organizations working at the community level. Our coalition works together every day to ensure national and local policies reflect local realities and support an effective response to the end of AIDS.

Exciting update! AIDS United Receives Significant Funding to Bolster HIV Programs and Advocacy. AIDS United is proud to announce the awarding of several major grants totaling nearly $3.75 million to support and expand our vital work in capacity building, technical assistance, and advocacy. These generous funds will significantly strengthen our capacity to support HIV prevention and treatment and advocacy that supports people living with and disproportionately affected by HIV and AIDS. We are grateful to the Gilead Sciences, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS, and our generous donor for their continued support and commitment to our mission to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030. The AIDS United 340B Work Group (Work Group), a standing committee of the AIDS United Board of Trustees, shares its serious concerns about the recently introduced 340B Affording Care for Communities and Ensuring a Strong Safety-Net (ACCESS) Act (H.R. 8574). The Work Group’s feedback is grounded in the members’ shared mission: to provide access to care for people living with and vulnerable to HIV by maintaining the integrity of the 340B Program. It is in service of this mission that we have informed bill sponsors and House committee leadership that we do not support the 340B ACCESS Act, legislation that threatens the continued ability of safety-net providers, including AIDS United members, to care for their communities and expand access to care for those most in need.
