Becoming a Champion Really enjoyed meeting Emmitt Smith at the Huddle for Health during the Enshrinement Weekend. Emmitt played football for 15 years, 13 with the Dallas Cowboys. He won 3 Super Bowls and is the league's all time rushing leader. He is the only player to win a Super Bowl, NFL MVP, NFL rushing crown, and Super Bowl MVP in the same season. His words of wisdom to the group during the Huddle for Health were so inspiring. 1) Dare to Dream Big 2) Adapt and Change 3) Don't Let Fear Cripple You 4) Seek Out Guidance 5) Seize Opportunities That Come Your Way It's easy to see why Emmitt would be a champion at anything he does. Michael Phelps said it best. "You can't put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get."

Legendary Moment Had the honor of getting to meet and spend time with Ray Lewis during the NFL Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week. He played linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens for 17 years going to the Pro Bowl 13 times and winning 2 Super Bowls. In addition, he was twice NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and also Super Bowl MVP. He started a cigar line called Legendary Moment which represent his passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence he demonstrated on and off the field. The label has the number 52 which was the number he wore while playing. Ray named these cigars with the purpose of reminding all that everyone needs a moment for themselves. Why not make it legendary ? Smoking cigars with Ray was legendary for me and highly recommended trying them. Max Halloway said it best. "Heroes get remembered but legends never die." Ray Lewis

Japanese Koi represents cultural identity and stands for good luck, prosperity, vitality, and longevity. In Hawaii, had the opportunity to see these special fish. A Japanese proverb said it best. "Seeing a Koi fish may be a reminder for you to remember what really matters in life."

Banana Bread Banana Bread in Maui is like "hummus" in my world. Now that's a big statement from me ! :) Bananas are now the fourth most valuable crop on the planet behind wheat, rice, and milk. It's the world's most consumed fruit, and if bananas were a country, they would be a super power. The Polynesians brought bananas to Hawaii and they grew rapidly because of the tropical climate. In 1933 Pillsbury published a book which said you could take rotten bananas and make "quick" breads and that changed everything. Maui has an abundance of bananas especially the apple banana with its telltale tang, creaminess, and sweetness lends perfectly to bread. This along with organic sugars and local butter sourced from the island lends itself to divine creations. We stopped on Mile 17 which is dubbed Halfway to Hana. This establishment started in 1982 by Auntie Marilyn and Nita Chong asserts they made the original banana bread on the island. After one bite of this slice of heaven, you want to get a hula hoop and start dancing. Certain everyone's imagination is going wild now. :):) There is so much passion in this beautiful Hawaiian culture for life. Banana bread is just one of these manifestations. King David Kalakua said it best. "The hula is the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people." Banana bread is part of this heartbeat as well

Rainbow Eucalyptus One of the reasons to come to Hawaii is because it is filled with natural wonders. One of those is the Rainbow Eucalyptus tree which has an incredible array of natural colors. The trees boast awe inspiring colors and patterns which must be seen to be believed. The bark sheds at various times per year which yields bright green under layer which changes colors over time. As the combination of air and sunlight react with the bark, the long strips turn from green to shades of red, orange, purple, blue, and even pink. When you see this in person, it's as if was created by a divine artists brush. These trees grow as high as 250 feet with a 6 foot diameter. They were originally brought to Hawaii in 1929 and can found on the road to Hana in Maui. Seeing this miracle of nature reminded me of a great quote from Maya Angelou. "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud."
