  • AMS is currently managing the extensive plumbing, mechanical work, HVAC piping and duct throughout the all the buildings including the parking garage, club house, tennis courts, mechanical room, golf performance building, and underground at the new Kalamazoo Country Club. Our hard-working tradespeople on the project have adapted and shifted to accommodate changes, priorities, and trades personnel, while maintaining consistent quality work. This will be an awesome project to watch as it progresses!

  • AMS recently completed the replacement and installation of mechanical components for 6 rectangular clarifiers in just 4 months, boosting groundwater resistance and functionality at Jackson Waste Water Treatment Plant. Now, we're working on Clarifier 13 and replacing all blowers. Thanks to our skilled team and partners, this project is on time and within budget. Check out the progress so far!

  • A perfectly crafted explanation of the tradespeople's role in constructing the future. We are so proud to have Ruben Martinez, as the Project Superintendent on this job! His knowledge, dedication, and humility have attributed to the success of his crew and the project. Both our Piping and Sheet Metal employees have been working hard in constructing this monumental facility. We cannot wait to see it at its completion!

    President, Corewell Health West

Meet Ruben Martinez. At 19 years old, Ruben was introduced to the world of construction by his soon-to-be father-in-law, a seasoned foreman. Over the years, Ruben has contributed to countless projects across West Michigan, from entertainment venues and hospitality spaces to cutting-edge research facilities. His hands have shaped the very structures that support our daily lives. Ruben has been with us since the groundbreaking of the new Corewell Health Care Center on Michigan Street, a project that promises to transform the Medical Mile in Grand Rapids. Day in and day out, he and his fellow crew members often go unnoticed as they work brick by brick, beam by beam, bringing this vision to life. Yesterday, as I visited the construction site, I saw firsthand the incredible progress being made. The final touches are coming together, and it's clear this building will be a beacon of innovation and care. Curious about the crew's perspective, I spoke with several members, including Ruben. They were unaware of the impact their work would have on our community — how their efforts would help train the next generation of health care professionals and provide exceptional care to countless patients. For Ruben and his team, this is a job. For us, it is a monumental step forward. Yet, the two are intrinsically linked; without their dedication and hard work, our vision could not become a reality. As the tallest building along the Medical Mile, the new ambulatory tower will host a variety of programs that need new space or are expanding, as well as new initiatives like our Corwell Health Clinical Simulation Center. It will feature a YMCA gym partnership and retail spaces for breakfast and lunch, enhancing the vibrancy of our community. Once this incredible project is complete later this year, our community and team will walk the floors of this building for decades to come, benefiting from the labor of Ruben and hundreds of other workers. This structure will stand as a testament to the fact that their individual efforts will collectively provide a foundation for our ongoing mission to improve lives through health care, education, and innovation. #HealthcareInnovation #WestMichigan #MedicalMile #CorewellHealth #BuildingTheFuture #SkilledTrades #BehindTheScenes #BuildingCommunity

  • We were fortunate enough to host some Three Rivers High School Students who were interested in seeing what a job in the trades can be like. The students were able to observe, learn, and even get their hands a little dirty as they were walked through our Sheet Metal, Piping, and Building Information Modeling and Scanning processes. We can’t wait to see their next steps!
