    June and July flew by. This August and September, I have some great speaking engagements forthcoming. So, I've been reflecting on the evolving landscape of hashtag #workforcedevelopment. I recently re-read a fascinating Forbes article about the top 10 in-demand soft skills for 2024. It got me thinking... Did you know? Employers now value "soft" skills more than technical skills for work readiness. The top skills include strategic thinking, negotiation, emotional intelligence, coaching, and innovation.     Boundaries. Such a simple word, yet so powerful. And guess what? There is a day for boundaries. Happy National Boundaries Awareness Day. In her book, The Sugar Jar, Yasmine Cheyenne said, "We've got to be our own advocates. We've got to be the ones to say, okay, this is enough for now, no more." That quote resonates deeply with my journey as a Human Resources professional, CEO, Integrated Life Coach, and Architect of Powerful Intent and Purpose. Did you know? 1) Many struggle to set boundaries, often prioritizing others at our own expense. 2) Clear boundaries are essential for both personal well-being and professional success. 3) Setting boundaries is an act of self-love, not selfishness. My own experience has taught me that: 1) Boundaries preserve our mental, emotional, and physical health. 2) They empower us to focus on what truly matters. 3) With healthy boundaries, we create space for authentic connections.     Rarely do we vulnerably discuss how challenging it is to maintain well-being while juggling life, leadership responsibilities, and societal expectations. We often aren't told that prioritizing self-care isn't selfish, yet it is essential for sustainable success in life and effective leadership. Six years ago, I founded AllProfitHR while working full-time to create cultures of belonging. What I didn't realize was how much I needed to belong to myself first. My journey taught me that neglecting self-care can lead to severe health crises—I ended up in the ER with alarmingly high blood pressure.
