Today, Parul from Phoenix shares how our parental leave benefit helped her find balance as a new mom: I'm Parul, a Senior Product Manager, and I’ve been with American Express since 2018. When I became a first-time mom, I quickly realized just how valuable it was to get 20 weeks of fully-paid parental leave. I had time to bond with my baby, recover, and adjust to the new demands of parenthood. Instead of feeling rushed to return to work like many parents, I was able to be fully present for my family, knowing my job and financial security were protected. Yesterday marked the start of Hispanic Heritage Month in the US, an annual celebration that recognizes the rich histories, talents, and experiences of the Hispanic and Latinx community.   American Express has a long and proud history of backing our Hispanic and Latinx colleagues, customers, and communities. Some highlights of our efforts include:   - Our Hispanic-Origin and Latin American (HOLA) Colleague Network hosted 50+ programs and events for colleagues in 2023, including ones centered around supporting colleagues’ career development, celebrating our unique backgrounds, and strengthening our connections and community. - We have committed $1 million over four years to support The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, which offers youth leadership initiatives, STEM and Finance summits, and mentoring programs. - As part of our long-standing partnership with the Hispanic Federation, we committed $2 million over four years to support their Latino Capacity Building Institute and COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund initiatives that are helping Latinx nonprofits grow and respond to pressing community needs.   I’m proud of #TeamAmex and the work we’re driving to ensure our colleagues, customers, and communities have the opportunities and resources to thrive.
