The comment period for the proposed Board of Cardiovascular Medicine is open. The ABMS is interested in hearing from cardiologists as to how a separate, independent CV Board would benefit both clinicians & patients.

Strength (resistance) training should be part of your exercise routine, but not so you can have bulging biceps. Strengthening your muscles helps protect your body from injury, increases metabolism so you burn more calories, and helps you retain the ability to perform everyday activities as you age. #Exercise #StrengthTraining #ResistanceTraining

#TheAHALife X Centennial One of our guiding pillars is to meet people where they are. Hear from Sherry Loera, our Senior Project Coordinator, on what has inspired her to stay with #TheAHALife for 23 years. What’s motivated you to stay for 20+ years with the organization? - Before the interview for my first position, I knew the American Heart Association is where I wanted my work home to be. The newness never wears off. The organization is truly one that meets people where they are. They care about their employees, their donors, vendors, and all others. They offer great benefits from insurance to paid time off, flexible schedules in many instances, and so much more. I love the health-focused aspect of what we do (and we do a lot!). Another motivation for me is I feel I am given the opportunity to help others just by showing up to work. Plus, the opportunities to learn are endless.

Research suggests that a toxic workplace can harm employee well-being. A healthy workplace can improve employee engagement and productivity, and reduce health care costs. #WellbeingWorksBetter

There is a rapid rise in technological advancements in cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and loop recorders, coupled with a rise in the number of patients with these devices. Understanding and managing patients with CIEDs is of utmost importance as interference with device function during procedures may result in hemodynamic disturbances or arrhythmias. http://spr.ly/60409ctwp 📷: The cycle of periprocedural management of cardiac implantable electronic devices
