Unifying Supply Chains for Disaster Relief
About us
When disaster strikes, few things are more important than good logistics. In fact, it’s often the key differentiator between wanting to deliver help and actually being able to. That’s what ALAN is all about. ALAN is an industry-wide organization that exists to provide supply chain assistance to disaster relief organizations (and other non-profits). We do this by bringing the expertise and resources of the logistics industry together with non-profit disaster relief organizations so that we can help solve their most pressing supply chain challenges immediately after disasters strike. That way, help – and hope – arrive sooner. Just as important, we exist to help humanitarian organizations make every logistics dollar count. After all, studies show that up to 80 percent of their crisis spending goes to logistics. And of that, as much as 40 percent may be wasted simply because these organizations don’t have the right supply chain equipment, knowledge or connections at their disposal. In the end, our goal is to help these organizations accomplish far more, logistically, than they could on their own, so they multiply the good that their missions do. And more survivors get the assistance they need.

American Logistics Aid Network reposted this
I remember during the pandemic outbreak, when uncertainty affected our logistics industry, the idea to support the American Logistics Aid Network came up. I spoke with Kathy Fulton and that started an adventure of making our Logistics Sessions a source for donations, starting with our Summit "Logistics Industry United Against COVID-19". These initiative helped ALAN support non-profits in tackling their supply chain challenges for almost two years, when these events helped to continue our support. In that time, we were grateful to count with the CSCMP - Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and TMSA - Transportation Marketing & Sales Association associations, who stayed with us in carrying out this project. Now, three years later, we have the opportunity to team up again with the ALAN, and create a greater impact on our community with #EveryActionMatters. Through this movement, we want to bring together as many companies as possible to increase the impact and visibility of their social and environmental initiatives. Let’s work together to begin a snowball effect to contribute to the community! If your company has a social or environmental initiative and you want information on how to be part of our #EveryActionMatters movement, raise your hand in the comments ☝🏻 or reach out to me via DM, and I'll tell you how! #giveback #goglt
