Proceeds from the fundraiser will help support Russell Education Foundation programs. The Foundation was established in 1998 by ex-Miami Dolphin’s linebacker Twan Russell and his late mother Corliss, who was a middle school teacher, to help struggling children focus on reading to equip them for academic success. REF has impacted the lives of over 20,000 low-income students, many who have blossomed into high school and college graduates, achieved meaningful employment, and have become caring parents. The foundation currently provides quality after school and summer learning services for K-5 students through Russell Reading Rooms for over 1,000 children in 11 locations throughout Broward and Miami-Dade counties annually. • American National Bank honors 2024 Sonrise Mission Graduates American National Bank was pleased to sponsor the Sonrise Mission 35th Annual Graduation Banquet on May 17, 2024 held at Church by the Glades. The 2024 graduating class consisted of nine residential graduates and seven staff training graduates.   Sonrise Mission Bible Training Center is a division of Mission Teens Inc., a not-for-profit 501 (C) 3 faith ministry that provides hope for the hopeless through their non-denominational Christ centered residential, discipleship training program. Their goal is to help people who have life-controlling problems such as drug or alcohol addictions by ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them. The program is divided into four phases, each lasting two to four months, with the final phase a "counselor training" phase.   Since 1969 over 20,000 people have come into the various Mission Teens centers, with a 90% success rate. Many graduates go into Christian ministries, some stay to work in their centers while others go on to be productive members of society and lights in their communities. Sonrise Mission does not charge for their services and does not receive any funding from the government. All support comes from local resources such as concerned individuals, businesses and churches, which is why American National Bank continues to provide this much needed funding. Congratulations to all the 2024 graduating class! For more information on Sonrise Mission Bible Training Center, please visit their website at www.sonrisemission.center.
