DID YOU KNOW… For the first time this year, #ATRI’s Operational Costs report tracked cost changes in the first two months of 2024. The resulting data show a continuation of many 2023 cost trends. While fuel and tire costs continued to decline into 2024, insurance premiums continued to increase. Similarly, truck and trailer payments increased, although at only half the rate experienced in 2023. One of my favorite audiences every year is the Louisiana Motor Transport Association membership. I was lucky this year to share the stage with my good friend Robert Costello. Bob’s economic presentations are always informative. #TruckingResearch American Transportation Research Institute American Trucking Associations

DID YOU KNOW... For the past 13 years, #ATRI has been utilizing its freight truck GPS dataset to evaluate traffic congestion at over 300 freight-significant locations on the national highway system. From this analysis, ATRI publishes its annual list of the top 100 truck bottlenecks, highlighting the most congested locations for trucks. And while the data generates from freight trucks, the top locations are traffic chokepoints for all vehicles – cars and trucks – traveling through these locations. ATRI's top 100 bottleneck list provides a roadmap for transportation planners and decision-makers to identify where to invest infrastructure dollars for the greatest payoff in reducing congestion. We enjoyed our discussions about the trucking industry and how important ATRI's research is to Abilty/Tri-Modal's operations. As always, we appreciate Ability/Tri-Modal Transportation Services, Inc.'s long time support, and involvement in our research as well as Greg Owen's past service on ATRI's board of directors. #TruckingResearch Jeffrey Short Carla Rose
