AmTrav had an excellent time at GBTA | Central and Northern Florida Chapter's Corporate Travel Excellence event last week! Our own Liz Augustine did an amazing job moderating the NDC Panel, preparing our industry for the future of travel. We’re thrilled to support Liz in her role on the board and with the educational programs she helps encourage and grow. She's out here making business personal, being radically honest, and keeping it fun—events like this put our values out into the business travel universe!

For most companies, long term plans are useless. They create a false sense of certainty about the future, and remove the agility that iteration provides. It's much better to have: - Long term mission and beliefs about the world - Culture: a set of values that guide decision making - The ability and freedom to learn, adjust, and be flexible - Short term plans In such an environment, senior leadership's job is communication, resource allocation, and coordination. Not top-down management of actual tasks.

Kudos to Delta Air Lines for making free WiFi a reality on all their flights—and a special shoutout for committing to transatlantic flights by the end of summer! 🌍✈️ We’re thrilled to see Delta leading the charge in keeping travelers connected and productive in the skies. Now, who's next? 😉 At AmTrav, we empower companies and their people to go places, meet people, and grow further. Our platform is designed to keep your travelers productive and connected, no matter where they are (or which airline they’re on). So, who’s ready to catch up with Delta?

I want to give a ginormous shout out to our Customer Care team -- not just the front line travel advisors who handle our chats, calls, and emails -- but also our fulfillment team who does the back-end work like reissuing tickets and processing refunds. We survey our customers after every trip and I get cc'd on every one of those surveys. When I saw how many flights were canceled and how slammed we were with inquiries from disrupted travelers, I braced myself for an onslaught of rough comments. But what I saw was quite the opposite. Although we were admittedly not perfect -- we very pretty overwhelmed and our response times definitely suffered -- traveler after traveler took the time to share stories about how AmTrav team members helped them out of impossible situations to get them home or to their destination. Most business travelers (understandably) like to do everything online without having to speak to someone. Providing a great digital experience for booking and changing trips is at the core of what we do. But when the shit really hits the fan like it did a few weeks ago, it's also nice to have a human to reach out to -- someone who does this for a living and can help you navigate the most challenging circumstances that impact your travel. Sorry. I don't usually use LinkedIn to gush about AmTrav (I swear!) But in this particular case I am so proud of and so grateful for the team we have I can't keep quiet. Thanks to all of them for their tireless effort under very difficult circumstances!
