🌟 Partner Highlight 🌟 Introducing #APOLLO consortium member - Metran Rohstoff-Aufbereitungs GmbH. 💡 Metran Rohstoff-Aufbereitungs GmbH is a non-ferrous metals recycling company of Müller-Guttenbrunn Gruppe in Austria. Metran is a family-owned recycling company based in Austria with subsidiaries in Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania. 🔎 They are focusing on recovering raw materials from End-of-Life Vehicles and WEEE (Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment). The recovered secondary raw materials are used again at specialized smelters. The recycled plastics from Small Domestic Appliances are REACH and RoHS compliant, and are utilized in new electronic products. By recycling approximately 850,000 metric tons, the group saves around 1 million metric tons of CO2 emissions. 🤝In the #APOLLO project, Metran Rohstoff-Aufbereitungs GmbH is responsible for: ☑Collection of End-of-Life Photovoltaic modules.  ☑Shredding and recovering material from PV modules (Aluminum, glass, plastics, precious metals). ☑Internal analysis (hand sorting, XRF spectrometer, XRF handheld, Near Infrared spetrometer).   ☑Support in designing the demonstrator recycling line. Kalyon PV, which has made it a mission to spread technologies that are friendly to people, nature and the environment, adds value to life with its international R&D studies and innovative technologies, and delivers solar energy technology that focuses on quality and efficiency to every corner of Türkiye and the world. 🔎Kalyon PV combines all commercial solar panel production processes (ingot, wafer, cell, and panel) under one roof, making it a unique facility in the EU. 🌟 Partner Highlight 🌟 Introducing #APOLLO consortium member - ODTÜ-GÜNAM. 💡ODTÜ-GÜNAM was founded under the administration of the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey, as an interdisciplinary research center to conduct research on solar electricity. In 2021, ODTÜ-GÜNAM Research Center gained the status of “Thematic Research Infrastructure” as a national center and received additional funding to operate in all scientific and technological research and development topics related to solar-to-energy conversion. 🔎ODTÜ-GÜNAM aims to develop products, production processes, and methods in solar energy conversion technologies in accordance with worldwide carbon neutrality targets. 🤝In the #APOLLO project, ODG, with support from all partners, will be mainly responsible for generating guidelines on how future PV production should evolve for more effective recycling and for building demonstrator devices as proof of concept to demonstrate the effectiveness of recycling. ☑ODG will also be involved in perovskite recycling, re-use of materials, and supplying PERC-like bottom cells for tandem recycling efforts.
