    Strategic Video Producer

    A year ago, I had 0 sales experience, but today, I help create some of the most actionable sales content in SaaS. How? Being a video creator is pretty cool. I love the editing, the color correction, and the gear I film with, but more than that, it's cool learning about the core subjects that surround the companies I've worked for and becoming an in-house content creator for them. At Apollo.io for example, I came here with ZERO experience in the world of sales. I watched The Wolf of Wall Street once, but that was the extent of it. 😅 I have a deep understanding of video SEO, engagement/retention, thumbnails, motion graphics, scripting, storyboards, etc. But to also be a content creator here at Apollo, I've had to learn about email deliverability, spam filters, inbound and outbound sales strategies, and more. Why do I take the time to learn what I cover in my videos? Why not just have someone who knows what they're saying write a script so I can say the words without understanding what I'm saying? When you take the time to really learn about the key concepts that go into the content you're editing/creating, you make BETTER CONTENT, content that's going to resonate with viewers wayyyyyyy more. So don't be afraid of applying for a role or taking a job at a company where you don't understand the core subject matter completely. "I would love this job, but I don't understand XYZ." That's okay, I promise. It's just an opportunity to learn something new and challenge yourself as a creator. Enjoy it. 👍
