About us
Born in 1970, Apparel Redefined was originally named Angie & Rich’s Custom Screening & Monogramming. It was a bonafide startup; Angie and Rich started the business working out of their garage. They made tees for the local rec, police, and fire departments. The disco era ushered in a fashion revolution. T-shirts went from dull undershirts to blank canvases for self-expression. Angie & Rich’s grew substantially thanks to this culture shift. In 1977 the company moved into a 3,500 sqft location in Bridgeview, IL. They built a screen printing production line, sewing and embroidery stations, and a front office. After more than three and a half decades successfully running Angie & Rich’s, the couple decided it was time to move on in 2006. The name was shortened to A&R Screening under new ownership. In 2006 apparel technology, trends, and fabrics were all changing. Cotton t-shirt demand fell sharply. Under Armor skyrocketed from zero by introducing high-performance dri-fit fabrics at scale. A&R recognized this shift early and carved out its niche in decorating athletic apparel. The company invested in new technology and developed processes that focused on quality and efficiency. After 11 years of excellent service, dedication, and passion the President of A&R Screening, Jo-Ellen Doranzo, retired in July 2017. Vice President John LaRoy stepped into the role. A&R achieved unprecedented growth, change, and focus the following 18 months. Consequently, the company sold its Bridgeview location and moved into a 22,000 sqft facility in Crestwood, IL in February ‘18. Management decided to rebrand the company to reflect this radical evolution. They wanted to pay homage to A&R’s roots but clearly show stakeholders this startup-minded company is on the cutting-edge of innovation in its industry. A&R morphed into AR. The initials were repurposed to stand for Apparel Redefined. Apparel Redefined launched in December 2018.

John LaRoy Visits Patrick Keegan, owner of Field Day Sporting Co. We're in the town that Patrick grew up in. Patrick and his wife opened this store, it's called Field Day Sporting Co. They have a brand called Field Day Sporting Co. The store concept is called Field Day Social. The store was kind of their vehicle to launch their brand but Patrick has been in product development his entire career. He lived in New York, LA, San Diego, and all throughout North Carolina. He's worked a lot in the golf space and in the manufacturing and design side. They traveled to a lot of places to try to find happiness, and this was always in the back of their minds. So They're proud to their our shop in this little place and to be surrounded by the people that they love. I went to school for finance and entrepreneurship. When I graduated college in 2005-2006, entrepreneurship was just starting to gain traction as an actual course. It was still in its infancy. The best part of my college was in the second semester of my senior year, business. owners would come in and just tell war stories and it was like, this is what I want. And then. You start doing it and it's like, this is not what I want. Some of the best advice I ever got is the water is really deep once you get in, and so is the responsibility. I wanted to be in health and fitness. I wanted to help people. When I got into this business initially, I really struggled to define what that meant. I had a really good business mentor, but I remember I was struggling. This was our fourth year in business, and I was that typical millennial. I'm grasping at what is making a difference. One of our employees bought their first house working for us. And my mentor basically was like, “You are making a difference, man.” That guy just bought his first house. That is just at a grassroots level, that just being an employer to John's point, that was really cool to say we were able to impact this guy in this positive light. https://lnkd.in/eRBVPeMa Learn more about retail solutions: https://lnkd.in/ejJdWWQN Learn more about contract services: https://lnkd.in/eywvWwpg Learn more about print on demand: https://lnkd.in/eFGjiabY #printondemandapparel #Justintimeapparel #digitalshirtprinting #printondemand #digitalprinted

At the end of the day, we are primal people who need to feel a sense of belonging to feel complete. It's our most innate need. Everyone wants in their quest to be different and stand out. There's also a dichotomy of looking somewhat part together and having some sort of similarity to be a symbol of your tribe or your group or your team or your company or your family, whatever it is. And that same feeling of belonging is conveyed in a million different ways, whether it be a logo, whether it be a color, whether it be a saying, whatever it is. And we have that unique power, if you want to call it that, to be able to convey that through branded apparel and branded items, whatever it is that person that feeling. That's a really convoluted way to say I'm a screen printer, but it conveys the feeling. And this is what we talk about with our own team. We make memories, not just apparel. And you never forget that feeling of what you were doing at your favorite concert or when you met your wife or whatever. Like if you think back to that memory, you know what you were wearing. And we have a special part of that. https://lnkd.in/eRBVPeMa Learn more about retail solutions: https://lnkd.in/ejJdWWQN Learn more about contract services: https://lnkd.in/eywvWwpg Learn more about print on demand: https://lnkd.in/eFGjiabY #printondemandapparel #Justintimeapparel #digitalshirtprinting #printondemand #digitalprinted

Branded Apparel Strategies with Fully Promoted Idaho Most businesses want to decorate their apparel or put their logo on it because they want to get noticed or they want to look professional. If you have a sales team and they're selling to prospects, you want them to be clearly identified that this person works for this company, and it looks really nice. But beyond that, what really has become apparent to me is, especially on the T-shirt side of the business, it makes you feel like you're a part of a team. So when everybody's matching, wearing the same gear, drinking out of the same matching water bottles, it makes you feel like you're part of something bigger. And so we started approaching how we do business with that attitude. Why is Apparel Redefined Excited to Partner with ROQ US? It's a whole new world in terms of experience right now. We've talked a little bit on a couple of other podcasts about the American economy, it went from a product economy to a service economy to an experience economy. ROQ is all three of those. You have the products, you have the service, and you have the experience. We go on events, tours, trade shows, and other types of events. There's business to be done. But then there's also the relationship building. Our industry, as big as it is–everyone's got T-shirts and everyone's got decorated apparel, polos, hats, what have you—is still relatively small in terms of the number of people who are doing it very well and take pride in it.
