Art Bridges is a new foundation dedicated to expanding access to American art.

About us

Art Bridges is a foundation that shares outstanding works of American art with those that have limited access to our country’s most meaningful works. Art Bridges organizes exhibitions of American art for display at public and academic art museums of all sizes. These exhibitions draw from Art Bridges’ growing collection and partner institutions. The exhibitions supported by Art Bridges are engaging, content-rich, and include in-depth educational and interpretive materials. They range from single-object loans to fully developed thematic exhibitions, and include support for programming, audience engagement, and meaningful evaluation. Art Bridges is deeply interested in furthering work that is innovative and experimental; multi-disciplinary; and audience-building.

Two of our Learning & Engagement staff members, Jasmine DeJackome and Reveille Isgrig, recently traveled to Alabama to join over 200 other attendees at the Mobile Museum of Art’s “Surrealist Night.”   Presented in conjunction with our Partner Loan Network, the evening featured American Surrealist works from the The Museum of Modern Art in New York, which will remain on display through 2025. Having received additional Learning & Engagement funding, the museum also offered a myriad of community engagement activities, including oracle readings, improvised live music, cupcake decorating, Dreamwork seminars, and an ongoing game of “Exquisite Corpse.”   In planning such activities, the museum uses a collaborative process that involves its entire staff and exemplifies the transformative nature of engagement that places people first and objects second. Needless to say, our team was impressed!   Follow Mobile Museum of Art to stay up to date on its offerings.   Photo Credit: Mobile Museum of Art staff in costume at Surrealist Night. "Crafting Sanctuaries: Black Spaces of the Great Depression South" is a powerful new exhibition that reimagines our understanding of the Great Depression by showcasing the vibrant, resilient lives of Black Southerners. This collection reveals intimate spaces of comfort and community, highlighting humble dwellings and public gathering places that were transformed into havens of expression and identity.   We provide financial support for costs associated with the presentation of the exhibition, and we encourage borrowing institutions to apply for supplemental Learning & Engagement funding to further enrich the experience with impactful programming and community engagement.   Submit your interest form today if you would like to join us in telling this story: https://bit.ly/3yJnkwh    Image Credit: Russell Lee, Southeast Missouri Farms. CEO, Curator of Interactive Art

Exciting news! The Bass + MyFi Studio partner to create interactive art and music-making experiences by presenting a series of Electronic Music Labs this summer. Inspired by artist Nam June Paik’s (b. 1932, Seoul, d. 2006, Miami Beach) early music roots and artwork titled Internet Dweller (1994, on loan from Art Bridges), MyFi Studio created in real time (2024), a newly commissioned collection of electronic music instruments available online and in person at the Internet Dweller Electronic Music Labs at The Bass. Made possible with generous support by Art Bridges (Art Bridges Foundation), guests will learn how to play MyFi Studio instruments, create new media, and have the chance to own an electronic instrument. RSVP to join our 6 events at The Bass + online this summer. Play in real time here: https://lnkd.in/dYAnTnhX

Art heals, and everyone deserves access to art that inspires, fosters hope, and reflects the diversity of experiences and voices in our country. At the recent #AspenIdeasFestival, our CEO Anne Kraybill, Founder Alice Walton, and Art Bridges Board Member and Ford Foundation President Darren Walker discussed access to the arts, art as a conduit for healing, and the importance of making art accessible to all. https://lnkd.in/g5hxzrSG
