Last week, Article celebrated our second annual Volunteer Day and Week of Giving as we focused on giving back to organizations driving change in communities across the country! Chicago home teams had the opportunity to work on the beginning stages of 4 Habitat for Humanity Chicago homes, repack COVID test kits and food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and repaint a section of Metropolitan Family Services' Emergency Shelter. Meanwhile, Article's property teams collaborated with organizations in their communities on running food and clothing donation drives, distributing food at local food banks, fundraising for the SPCA, and more. We are excited to continue the tradition of uplifting the communities we share in years to come. Building communities is at the core of Article Student Living's mission. Last week, Article employees made this mission a reality by serving the local Chicago community during our annual Volunteer Day! Teams partnered with Habitat for Humanity Chicago to build housing for families on Chicago's South Side and Metropolitan Family Services, which provides essential services to more than 117,000 underserved families in the Chicagoland area. The Habitat team had the pleasure of working side by side with Belinda, a local Habitat for Humanity homeowner, to put siding up on three Habitat homes in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Family Services team organized donations and set up classrooms that have been unusable since the start of COVID-19 at the North Community Center for Children, which provides pre-K programming for children on Chicago's Northwest Side.
