Attorneys Serving the Community is thrilled to announce that it has selected POETIC as its 2024-2025 nonprofit beneficiary. Since 2017, POETIC has worked to break the cycle of vulnerability and victimization in youth. POETIC’s mission is to equip girls who have experienced child mistreatment, commercial sexual exploitation, and sex trafficking to find their voices, reclaim their narratives, and persist forward. POETIC’s comprehensive support puts an on-site school, trauma therapy center, art therapy and paid internships all under one roof for the youth it serves. Funds that ASC raises this year will kickstart and support three critical campaigns: • Expansion of POETIC’s physical space, allowing POETIC to double its square footage and double the number of youth it serves. • Expansion of POETIC’s program staff, allowing POETIC to provide therapeutic services to more youth. • Software necessary to support POETIC’s clinical research efforts, allowing POETIC to continue and expand its sharing of trends and effective interventions on a national level. POETIC’s programming is built on the belief that every youth should have access to equitable resources with a focus on education, mental health, and economic empowerment. ASC is honored to partner with POETIC this year to raise funds and awareness for its important mission. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

WE DID IT TOGETHER! It has been my privilege to serve as Attorneys Serving the Community’s Lead Chair for the last year. A year ago, Devon Sharp and I issued a call to action – we asked all of you to help us raise $400,000 (net) to support four initiatives at Crossroads Community Services. Today, I am thrilled, humbled, and honored to tell you that we did it! Together we raised more than $402,000 (net) — the most in ASC’s history. Devon and I have all of you to thank for this incredible achievement. Our fantastic committee co-chairs worked tirelessly to lower our expenses. Our members “stepped-up” their membership levels, resulting in the most money ever raised from membership dues. And our corporate and firm sponsors contributed more sponsorship dollars than ever before in our history. Thank you for answering our call to action. Thank you for volunteering your time. Thank you for donating your talents. Thank you for going on this adventure with me. ASC’s “unofficial” photographer, the incomparable Zoe Dennis is hosting head shot mini sessions on June 28. Zoe photographed most of our events this year. She is an amazing photographer. If you need new headshots, please consider supporting her. (She is also great at getting toddlers to cooperate in family photo sessions. #AskYourLeadChairHowSheKnows)

ASC’s 37th Annual Luncheon was a smashing success! Total revenues for the year exceeded $556k. (We are still reconciling final donations and expenses and will announce net in July.) We have so many people to thank for our success over the last year. We are going to start with our two raffle donors—Neiman Marcus Group and Grace Pinotti Fine Art. We raised almost $10,000 selling raffle tickets alone yesterday. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Your generosity and support of Crossroads Community Services is so appreciated.
