I’m excited to announce that this summer, I’ve been working as a Public Health Informatics Intern at the SEARCH Lab within the UC Irvine Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health! It is exciting to be able to contribute to the SEARCH Lab’s mission of advancing social epidemiology research to reduce the global burden of disease through biosocial approaches. With the recent announcement of the UC Irvine Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health—the first of its kind in Orange County—I’m eager to be at the forefront of this pivotal moment for public health. This internship presents a unique intersection of my interests in public health and data analytics, allowing me to dive deeper into the dynamic field of health informatics. A special thank you to Aryanna C. and Desiree Gutierrez, MPH for welcoming me to the team and supporting me throughout my internship. Their guidance and support have been invaluable, and it has been amazing to work under their expertise while learning and growing in the field. This incredible opportunity was made possible through the UC Irvine Public Health Informatics & Technology (PHIT) Program and the support I have received from friends, family, and faculty! Thank you to Jennifer Hajcak and her team for their support and guidance!
