Starting September 1, 2024, the WCIRB in California will implement changes to class codes for restaurants, bars, and related businesses. The current class code 9079 will be discontinued and replaced with six new codes: 9058: Food and beverage employees at hotels 9080: Full-service restaurants 9081: Restaurants not otherwise classified, including food trucks 9082: Catering operations with no dine-in service 9083: Fast food or fast casual establishments 9084: Bars or taverns (excluding restaurants) For any California restaurant policies effective on or after September 1, please ensure you use the appropriate new class codes.
