This September, we’re hosting survivorship events in Charlotte and Winston-Salem to share experiences and tools to help you navigate the journey. Sessions include supporting your mental health, art and songwriting therapy, how to face the financial challenges of a diagnosis and more. For the lung care team - robots aren’t just cool gadgets, they're lifesavers. 🦸♂️  That’s why the Atrium Health team was excited to create a hands-on thoracic oncology experience for students, patients and providers to show how our team of doctors and surgeons use these robots to detect and surgically remove lung cancer.     We also showcased our Mobile Lung Screening Bus, which is the first-of-its-kind in the nation. This bus travels across North and South Carolina, offering free screenings to people who are at risk of lung cancer and may not have access to regular care.   Lung cancer is the leading cause of death among cancers in the U.S. That's why we're always looking for new ways to improve our lung cancer care and screening. From strokes to life-altering accidents to traumas that impact all aspects of a patient’s life, rehabilitation nurses are a highly specialized class of nurses who help people adjust to their new life. They also have plenty of heart ❤️ This year, 25 nurses from Atrium Health attended the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) annual conference in San Antonio, Texas, where highly skilled specialty nurses have come together to learn more about advanced technology and best practices in rehabilitation nursing. Many of our nurses also presented their research. “This is the best of the best rehabilitation nurses in the world coming together to share our knowledge, exchange ideas and collaborate with other experts in the field,” said Ronella Eaddy, chief nursing officer for Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation. “Our presence here not only showcases our expertise as thought leaders but also inspires further innovation and collaboration within our organization.”
