Matt Kuffler, PE, Austin Energy Power System Engineer Sr., is seen here leading the tour, explaining power plant operations and answering questions from the group. With triple-digit heat or heat indexes in the forecast, Austin Energy’s power generation and transmission facilities have completed their weatherization readiness activities in preparation for the summer season. Austin Energy certified its summer weather preparedness to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) in compliance with state regulations. What started with a small group of volunteers delivering meals in South Austin has grown to nearly 30 employees participating monthly, with five teams now serving the Mueller area. This remarkable journey of service highlights the unwavering commitment of Austin Energy employees to their community. Partnering with Meals on Wheels Central Texas, we provide essential nourishment and safety checks to those in need, fostering unity and purpose among volunteers. As we mark this milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed their time and energy. Looking ahead, Austin Energy remains committed to supporting Meals on Wheels Central Texas and other community organizations.
