Protect Life. Obsolete the bullet. Global tech company dedicated to capturing truth with connected cameras & devices.
About us
Our story began in September of 1993 when TASER International was founded by CEO Rick Smith with his brother Tom Smith. They consulted with Jack Cover, former NASA scientist and inventor of the original TASER® conducted energy weapons of the 1970s. Rick Smith was inspired to found the company after losing two high school football teammates who were shot and killed in a road rage incident. This experience led him to seek new technologies that would enable people to protect themselves without deploying lethal force in hopes of creating a bullet-less world. Today, Axon represents the entire network of devices, applications and people that is revolutionizing public safety around the world. Our mission is to protect life. We’re building the world’s largest and most trusted suite of public safety solutions. If you are seeking a career with purpose, we invite you to join us. Learn more at: axon.com/careers This is Our Moonshot Gun-related deaths between police and the public have risen steadily for at least the past six years. An awesome moment for Skydio as the Skydio X10 continues to help combat crime in big cities. As partners, we’re proud to work alongside Skydio to bring innovative solutions like Drone as First Responder technology to public safety and achieve our shared mission to protect more lives in more places. #DFR #Axon #ProtectLife
It's a special moment seeing Skydio X10 fly through downtown San Francisco to help catch criminals while avoiding a dangerous car chase. The X10 can safely fly through the urban canyon using unmatched visual navigation and the built-in 5G modem. Both are essential ingredients for scalable drone use, especially in big cities. Drone as First Responder (DFR) technology enables law enforcement agencies like Campbell Police Department to respond more efficiently and effectively to a wide range of incidents, including retail theft. Campbell PD’s DFR program is an incredible example of utilizing drone technology to quickly resolve a situation in order to maintain safety in their community. We’re thrilled to collaborate in partnerships that are helping shape the future of public safety. #DFR #Axon #ProtectLife
The last few years have been both exciting and challenging as we have advanced our Drone as First Responder program. Partnerships with Axon, DroneSense, Inc., Dedrone and MatrixSpace are allowing us to push this important technology forward. From remote DJI box 1 flights to advanced sensors that we believe will one day replace visual observers. This work would not be possible without our amazing staff and David Cameron who has been instrumental in making these advancements happen. Our agency has so many examples of how the use of drones have led to better and safer outcomes.
