Meet Tristen Lachman our Commercial Solar Intern studying Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University Why are you excited to intern here at Baker? I’m excited because everyone here is nice and personable. I am also given many opportunities to learn and grow in many different construction paths. Why do you like/are interested in the construction industry? I had a construction estimating internship previously and I love the office dynamic involved with each job. My father and brother are both in construction as well, so I’ve been around it growing up. #SummerInternship #Intern #SDSU #MechanicalEngineering #Internship #CommercialSolar

Meet Hayden Keyser our Special Projects Intern studying Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University. Why are you excited to intern here at Baker? I'm excited to intern at Baker Electric because I'm fascinated by the entire building process, from blueprint to completion. In this internship I'll get to analyze construction drawings and understand project requirements by reading RFPs. I'm also excited to visit the project sites to see everything come together. Why do you like/are interested in the construction industry? My internship at Baker Electric has sparked a real passion for the construction industry, particularly the pre-construction and estimation phase. The Special Projects team has been rewarding to be a part of. Not only have I gained valuable insight into the financial side of construction through meetings, but I'm also heavily involved in a project that allows me to delve into the early stages of bringing a project to life. #SummerInternship #Intern #SDSU #MechanicalEngineering #Internship #SpecialProjects

Meet Zachary Rodrick our Special Projects Intern studying Construction Engineering at San Diego State University. Why are you excited to intern here at Baker? I am absolutely stoked to intern with Baker Electric for many reasons. A prominent one being the training and education of the electrical world within the construction industry Baker offers. Within just the first two weeks of the program there has not only been numerous trainings on different relevant software and project logistics, but also hands on training wiring switch systems and bending conduit. I look forward to further developing my skills and knowledge of the industry with the help of Baker Electric. Why do you like/are interested in the construction industry? Ever since I was little, I have always been fascinated by the ins and outs of how things are built. From creating fictitious Lego cities to building and selling a $40k tiny home, construction has always been a major part of my life. From high school on, learning more and more about the industry has been a blast and it’s clear that this is the direction meant for me. #SummerInternship #Intern #SDSU #ConstructionEngineering #Internship #SpecialProjects

Meet Vidal Marquez our Service Intern studying Electrical Engineering at San Diego State University. Why are you excited to intern here at Baker? Being an intern here at Baker is a big step for me as I can gain experience with the construction side of electrical engineering. In school the closest I came to construction was my power classes, so I have been looking forward to starting here at Baker. During my time here I’ve already had the opportunity of going on a job walk for a new bid and learning about all the programs they use to manage projects Having the opportunity to ask questions and learn from my team has been a large help for me to grow both professionally and personally. Why do you like/are interested in the construction industry? My father is an Electrician so growing up I’ve always been around the construction industry. He would take my brother and I with him to side jobs and have us help with small things. This sparked an interest in me as seeing him complete various projects led me to wonder how everything worked. That’s why I chose to major in Electrical Engineering hoping to learn more about the process and thought that goes into construction projects. #SummerInternship #Intern #SDSU #ElectricalEngineering #Internship #Service
