Thank you Bako Labs for the quick biopsy report confirming early arising melanoma in-situ on this patient right first toe. She is now scheduled for complete excision of the lesion. I anticipate full recovery with no loss of limb. She is late 50s Caribbean descent with no history of skin cancer. She came to see me for an ingrown toenail on her other large toe and during the examination I noticed this suspicious lesion. I educated her on the importance of obtaining an accurate diagnosis because of my concern about melanoma and thankfully she agreed to have the biopsy performed during the same visit. She told me one of the reasons she was convinced to do the biopsy was from the story I told her about Bob Marley having a very similar lesion on his toe which he neglected Resulting in his early death at age 36. Foot biopsies save lives! #Bako
