Over the past weekend, our CEO Julia Yan set sail with The 5 Gyres Institute and Materevolve in the San Francisco Bay! Truly grateful to have been invited to join this dynamic group of cross-sector leaders, including textile industry experts, innovators, microfiber researchers, and sustainable brands, who are all committed to being part of the solution. Together, we embarked on a mini expedition with onboard scientific research led by Dr. Lisa Erdle to collect air and water samples around the bay and onshore, aiming to uncover how microfibers are transported via the air. We're eagerly awaiting the results of lab analysis that will shed light on their sources and the environmental impact of these tiny particles! But it wasn't just about sampling – we also participated in workshops and engaged in deep conversations about how we can collectively chart a course to develop a new microfiber pollution and textile solutions roadmap. The energy and ideas shared during these discussions have left us feeling incredibly inspired about what the future holds!
