Pulling Together for a Stronger Baltimore

About us

Baltimore Community Rowing (BCR) promotes the sport of rowing for fitness, competition, and recreation. While striving to be a national leader in the sport of rowing, BCR is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, racially diverse rowing community and providing equitable access to the sport of rowing for residents of the Baltimore metro area. Programs are available for Middle School, High School, and collegiate students and adults and run from recreational opportunities to programs designed to ready an athlete for competition at a regional and national level. BCR Juniors is a competitive rowing program with year-round opportunities for high school and middle school athletes. Participants attend public and private schools in Baltimore City and the surrounding counties. Athletes of color from Baltimore City and the surrounding counties are served through Reach High Baltimore, founded in 2011 as an outreach program of BCR Juniors. Reach High Baltimore provides athletes with fee assistance, as well as transportation assistance and summer job opportunities for high school athletes. By leveling the playing field for athletes of color, Reach High Baltimore and BCR strive to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive access point to the sport of rowing for all athletes.
