From interns to full-time team members! Bandit Lites is pleased to announce the hiring of Harrison Reilly and Riley Rowan as Integration Specialists, one of Bandit’s fastest growing departments. They will provide support to project managers in the office, work on site during installation and programming phases of both architectural and performance systems as well as assist clients with any troubleshooting and further education opportunities. American guitarist and singer/songwriter Gary Clark Jr. is out on his HYPERWAVE TOUR in support of his most recent album, JPEGRAW. With multiple moods, music genres, styles and sounds, this album continues to push boundaries and highlight the acclaimed guitarist’s versatility and impact. Bandit Lites provided the lighting for the North American tour, which covered nearly every type of venue, from mobile stages to Red Rocks to Radio City. When assembling the scalable lighting system, designers John Adamo and Robert Fuller took inspiration directly from Clark Jr.’s music. The modular rig had a baseline width of 41’ that would need to compress inward or even have entire segments removed so as to compress into whatever trim or load capacity of the venue. Tyler Ladder Towers, Bandit’s hot new go-to item in its inventory, was a key part of the big look with eight double hung ladders at the back along with a 20’ circle providing a giant backdrop. “Bandit’s VP of Production Dizzy Gosnell and Crew Chief Cody Cheatham were able to rethink and redeploy this rig night after night without ever compromising the impact or consistency we were looking for,” said Adamo. Lighting designer Mark Carver drew inspiration for the K-LOVE Fan Awards from the angles of the side LED walls and the forced perspective of the LED header close down. “Our goal was to create a contemporary linear and forced perspective look utilizing both wash, strip/strobe fixtures and beam fixtures framing the performance stage,” he said. “We are always tasked with keeping the look upbeat and fresh while meeting the specifications, allowing it to all translate well for the television audience and the live audience.” Bandit Lites provided more than 300 lighting fixtures including Chauvet Maverick Mk 3 spots, Chauvet Maverick Storm 2 Beamwash IP 65, Chauvet Rogue R2X Washes, Chauvet Colorado PXL Bar 8, Elation Smarty Hybrids, Elation ACL 360i, GLP JDC1 LED Strobes, ACME Geminis, Robe iForte FS, Robo Spot System and a GrandMA3 Full and GrandMA3 Light console for control. Cinematic rock band STARSET transported fans to interstellar heights, blending celestial visuals with cosmic sounds on their “Immersion” Tour. Bandit Lites supplied a lighting system for the pioneers of the modern rock scene, who are known for their expansive storytelling, immersive live shows and exploration of futuristic narratives and existential questions.
