It was a great opportunity to join #TokyoRainbowPride2024, which marks its 30th anniversary of Japan's annual Pride Parade this year!   Many Suntorians, including myself, gathered and joined the event – there were so many passionate allies supporting us as we walked through Shibuya, which represents the initial steps taken towards LGBTQ+ throughout the years.   On the other hand, Tokyo Rainbow Pride was a remarkable experience for me to reaffirm that we must continue to push for equity and inclusion for all, and provide platforms for those that still don’t access fair treatment and equal rights.   I strongly believe each step towards this vision makes the difference.

Today we are celebrating a world-first in our journey to net zero hydrogen distilling. Direct-fired distillation trials using 100% hydrogen have proven successful at the Yamazaki distillery in Japan, marking a milestone moment for WhiskHy, our partnership project with green technology company, Supercritical Solutions. The WhiskHy project, launched in 2021, is funded through the UK government’s Green Distilleries Competition. The project has also made considerable advancements in its proprietary technology, the first ever ultra-efficient, high pressure electrolyser, which would enable a distillery to produce and store hydrogen on site, powered by local renewable power sources. As part of our Proof Positive sustainability strategy, we are committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions across our entire value chain by 2040, and pursuing innovative green technology across our global distilleries to do so. Maker’s Mark and Keeneland Race Course announced a new chapter in their longstanding partnership today with the launch of “Greats of the Gate,” a 10-year commemorative bottle series celebrating a different iconic Thoroughbred racing horse each year – with the inaugural bottle honoring the legendary Lexington-foaled Man o' War.   The bottle series will be exclusively sold at select Kentucky retailers, with proceeds benefitting local nonprofits that support Kentucky culture, including the horseracing industry, hospitality and the arts.    Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eAvGfgxW
