REEFLEX, the European Union-funded Horizon Europe project in which we are one of the main beneficiaries in the consortium, aims to develop a set of interoperable solutions and services and ensure that energy consumers increase participation in demand side flexibility (DSF) markets. 🌐 What is DSF? DSF refers to the capability of any active customer to react to external signals and adjust their energy generation and consumption in a dynamic, time-dependent way, individually as well as through the support of energy service companies (aggregators) REEFLEX engages a set of key energy actors (DSO, ESCO, aggregators) and manufacturers working together to create a comprehensive catalog of smart appliances (including home appliances, EV and innovative 2nd-life battery storage systems) to mobilize DR (Demand-Response) through the central platform and energy marketplace. 💚 Within REEFLEX project, our parent company Arçelik is carrying out our work to provide flexible appliances (e.g., washing machine, dishwasher, HVAC systems) that will be facilitate the participation of consumers in flexibility markets and provide them with an active role in their energy consumption. At the same time we are the leader of Task 3.1 and work for standardizations of devices and gateways to provide local flexibility by considering various devices that will be used in the project. In 2021, we issued green bonds worth EUR 350 million with a five-year maturity. The bond was highly popular, nearly five times oversubscribed, attracting over 145 investors with a coupon rate of 3.00%. By December 31, 2023, we have allocated all EUR 350 million of the net proceeds to Eligible Green Projects. These projects include energy-efficient and circular economy-adapted products, as well as promoting energy efficiency in production. The proceeds will support investments in energy and water-efficient products, energy-efficient production, sustainable water and wastewater management, pollution control, renewable energy, and green building initiatives. We also innovate products and services to achieve a closed-loop circular economy. This includes increasing products' recyclability rates, using more recycled content in products and packaging, reusing products and parts, eliminating potentially harmful substances, and properly managing end-of-life processes through take-back and recycling initiatives. #Beko #Recycled
